can anyone help
have bought a hobby 560 and want to upgrade the hot water system from a truma therm
Have done some research and know that there is a truma ultrastore 10 or 14 litre tank .
Also found you can get a propex malaga 13.5 litre tank
Both are gas or gas and electric
Has anyone got any knowledge on either i.e. which is best and most efficient.
Has anyone tried fitting themselves
Thanks Rose

Hi Rose,
I have changed the 5 litre Truma Therme boiler in my 540 for a Truma Elektroboiler, 14 litre, mains electric only.
It was a doddle to change and has been used for almost 2 years without problem.
Fitting a Truma Ultrastore, gas and mains electric is a far greater task as it means running gas piping and cutting a hole in the side of the caravan to accommodate the flue etc.
To see details of the Elektroboiler you will need to Google the German Truma web pages but the UK supplier is www.miriad-products.com , this is where I bought mine.
See here http://www.truma.com/truma05/de/produkt ... 77844.html

Rose,

The Elekroboiler draws 3.7 amps (850 watts) and what I do is this.

Switch the boiler on, use lights at the same time if necessary.

When the water is hot, switch the boiler off. The water only loses 1 degree per hour from the starting point of 70 degrees.

When the water needs re-heating, ensure that there isn't anything plugged in that draws a lot of current.

My needs mean that the boiler only needs to be on whilst I am asleep.

Hope this helps.
