Repair of damaged bodywork

Postby John C Coleman » Wed Jul 12, 2006 11:48 am

My 2005 Excelsior 650 was damaged whilst parked on a site by an airborne Manqué (large tent). The Manqué was caught by a gust of wind which lifted into the air and threw it into my caravan, damaging the top nearside very close to the 'Hobby' emblem and denting the caravan about 1 1/2" deep by 18 inches long. I think the window may also be damaged.

Can anyone advise where the best place to take it for repair is.

Regards,
John Coleman

Hi
i can only speak from my experience and that of one other friend but we have had some work done at adlington caravans. They do come across as a bit laid back but the workshop lads are helpful and the sidepanel that they fitted to my mates 540 you couldn't tell from new.The only downside was the time it took to get the parts ,almost 8 weeks.
They are in lancashire ,i'm not sure where you are .there might be someone nearer but that would be my recomendation.
regards

Going off on a tangent slightly.
Needed a small part for my Hobby so rang a friend in Germany on Monday.
He called into Joeressen's on the Tuesday but the part was not in stock. They faxed the factory and the part arrived on Wednesday ! My friend was phoned by Joeressen's to say they had received the part. He picked it up on Thursday and put it in the post. Part arrived here in sunny Suffolk on the Friday.
Now that's what I call service.
I wonder how many UK dealers/manufacturers could match that ?
