How to repair puncture damage to outer skin of caravan

Postby mcagavin » Mon Sep 10, 2007 5:40 pm

Hi All,
I have a Hobby 540UK. A few days ago whilst reversing I managed to put a puncture hole of approx 12 mm diameter into the outer wall of the caravan. The outer skin is boken through, and the foam is visible, but the hole does not go all the way through the wall ( i..e not visible on the inside).

Can anyone advise the best way to fix this puncture hole so that the caravan remains watertight, and so that the the repair looks as good as possible.

Thanks,

Michael Gavin

Puncture repair to outer skin.

Hi Michael, I know this will not be a great deal of help but I definitely remember seeing an article in one of the various caravan magazines maybe a year or so ( or more? ) ago about a firm that has moulds of the various aluminium/fibreglass skin profiles and can match exactly any repair. Best of luck! Nick
