So lets deal with the fridge first.there are basically two different fridge manufacturer that Hobby use...one is Electrolux/Dometic and the other is Thetford....the following instructions are for the Electrolux type fridge if this is no good let me know and i will dig out the instructions for the Thetford .these instructions may vary slightly from one model of fridge to another ..one control knob will probably be marked with the.... off positionwhich I think is a solid dot...the electric position which has something that looks like a flash of lightening....the gas position that looks like a flame........move that knob to electric position and there should be another knob to control how cold......don't expect the fridge to get cold quickly as it takes a while..make sure that the mains power switch which is green colour is on, it lights up......is this model the dry van with no water and with a fridge freezer
The central heating works off the gas fire......one side of the fire should have a knob on the top..this needs to be pressed down and held down and turned about halfway round...the pressing down should fire up the electric igniter, if this is working you should hear a clicking sound as the igniter is sparking...if there is no clicking then remove the front of the gas fire ( it just lifts off ) and you should see a small black box on the floor, this contains the batteries for the igniter and these may need changing..the top of the box just lifts off
Hope this helps

Can you tell me if the fridge is a Thetford or Electrolux/Dometic....if you have a model number for the fridge that would be a help..The starter is for gas only...the model number could be inside the fridge on a sticky label attached to the side wall
Cheers

With regards the gas fire.....the temperature control knob has a long rod underneath it which runs to the bottom of the fire and sits in a hole...make sure that the bottom of the rod is in the hole...this then allows an increase and decrease in temperature and pushing down on the knob sets off the igniter
Am happy to try and help if I can

:( Well my fridge is broke its a elex rm6270,will not run on electric and gas, there is power going in and going out. I think it is the switch that you hold down (min max) switch that has broke.Does anyone knoe any companies in cambridge/bedfordshire border that can fix it.Thank you.

It is always a problem when you buy a van and haven't got any insruction books..You never know what anyone else has done to it.....If you want to send me a private mesage and give me your name and address I can send you a copy of the manufacturers original instructions for that model of fridge...if you also tell me the model number of the gas fire I may have a copy of the instructions for that as well
I cannot help you with names of repairers in your area as I live in Hull in East Yorkshire

If you go to this link http://www.dometicmanuals.com:8080/dome ... endatabase
it will come up with the fridge manual online. In box Model Denomination put RM6270 and for accuracy of exact model you have , in Product Number Code put the code from the sticker inside fridge...you can get a " general " idea even if you don't put in Prodct Number Code

When you do it and enter model number DO NOT leave a gap anywhere in model number as it will not work...enter as RM6270

Hi,I have down loaded the manual for fridge,i am doing that right.I found if you leave it a few days and try to start it on gas it goes for about two seconds then stops, then you have to leave it for another day or so.No idea.I think i know what is wrong with the heather, the long handle you hold down to allow the gas to flow there is a wire came off that runs to the automatic lighter,do you know if the supply off gas goes to the fridge on the same line that might be the problem with the fridge.as the hob and oven work fine.Thank you.

Sometimes the flue pipe for the fridge gets rusty inside and the vibration of driving can cause the rust flakes to fall onto the pilot light hole and stop the gas from flowing...Did you find the ON/OFF taps for the gas that are usually fastened to the floor under a drawer next to the fridge...somebody may have turned them off.. There are 3 in total......one has the picture of a stove on it, this for the gas fire.....one has a picture of a snowflake, this for the fridge ... and one has the picture of a cooking pan, this is for the oven and the gas rings. But I find it strange that you can get a bit of a flame for 2 seconds
