Just a Question.
I would be interested to know how many people might have had problems with the Gas Bottle Locker Cover Hinge used on the latest style Hobby (as pictured above). i.e. the era with the alluminium snail type hinge.
April 2007 I had to fit a new cover because the plastic cover had become detached from the crimped part of the hinge (see gallery photo).
I was fortunate to get one 'off the shelf' from the main Hobby Dealer at Derby GB but at an exorbitant price of £264.15 inc. £47.00 shipping (I fitted it myself)
On arrival I found Hobby had modified the hinge and now use different alluminium mouldings with a rubber type material as the actual hinge and even the fixing holes were in a different position than the original.
I believe the problem to have been caused during winter use of the caravan when water would freeze in the snail profile of the hinge thus preventing any movement, then when you try to open the cover the crimp would loose its tension as a result of the strain and eventually allow the cover to slide out. Hobby must have realised their mistake and rectified it at the customer's expense, for those out of warranty.
Does anyone know where I can get ring pulls for the Seitz cassette blinds in my 2003 - Exclusive 540 UFe. Some of these snapped during the first 6 months and I have failed to get any replacements from Hobby Dealers in both Germany and UK. They tell me they can't get any and I find that Seitz don't answer e.mails either.
