Adding flowing water

Postby YORKIE-UK » Tue Feb 07, 2006 3:12 am

Hi, unfortunatlly we bought a dry hobby (no water or toilet, shower)

we expected to go to camp-sites and get as close to the shower block as possible. but noticed that it's not always possible.

has anyone made the mistake of buying a dry caravan and fitted flowing water into it. i dont expect to be able to fit a shower or toilet in, but atleast so i can do the dishes, cause for some unknown reason i always have to do the washing up.... :?

if someone has a pic or two and a diagram i'm sure this would help..

thanks

Dry Van

Postby Stuart Pattinson » Tue Feb 07, 2006 8:19 am

Hi YORKIE
I to bought a dry van, no sink, toilet, water etc fitted.
Such a good price meant I could fit it out how I wanted it. I have had a quote from a local caravan repair guy to install a water heater, build a toilet cubicle with casette toilet, fit a new gas cooker (has one but wife wants a new one), gas oven, new sink worktop, replace damaged rear offside outside corner protecter quadrant, replace door handle, wire and plumb in my 3 way fridge and various bits and pieces, ie full service.
Job done for £1500. Van cost just over £3000, 650 UMF, very good condition.
My motorbiking friend has seen numerous vans for sale, most are not fit to keep chickens in or cost an arm and a leg. He laughed when he saw what I bought, he is thinking twice now.
I have just assembled all the parts and the van will go in this week next weekend. Guy reckons 3 days and it will be ready.
I will take pictures of before and after and hopefully it will have been worth the effort. :D
