a van to tow a 560+

Hi we are looking to buy a 720 hobby van but want to make sure we are fully insured and towing with the correct van. I am a bit confused with all the info. If we bought a van is that legal to tow a 2.5 meter wide van? If so do you need to upgrade your driving license? What kinds of van to pull the hobby should we be looking for? any makes or models appreciated, btw we need a 720 as we have 2 adults 4 kids and a baby to fit in,

If the van is plated for a gross weight in excess of 3500kgs which means 3501kgs or more - this rules out the more popular 3500kg max ones

If you passed your car driving test before the 1st January 1997 then you will see on your licence that you have categories C1 and C1E. This covers you to drive a vehicle with a Gross Vehicle Weight ( or Maximum Authorised Mass as it is now called ) between 3500kgs and 7500kgs. Tachograph only rerquired to be used if vehicle is being used for Hire or reward. This is often referred to buy some people as a mini LGV. Again if you passed your test prior to 1st January 1997 you should also have category D1 and D1E, which allows you to drive a Minibus upto 18 seats including the driver and you can pull a trailer. I occasionally move my 710 by using a new Ford Transit 18 seater minibus which I hire from a local company.
Hope this helps
