Firstly hello everyone.
We are in the market for a new caravan, (well new to us anyway)
With a budget of around 6 to 7k.
We spent all weekend looking around the dealers including the Hobby dealer at adlington.
We were bowled over. A 2002 Hobby 650 for £6500, what a bargain we thought, Untill we found out you cant legally tow them with a regular car.
we were gutted.
After browsing several websites i saw an article were someone said its legal to tow wide caravans with a land rover defender 110 12 seater.
He claimed the 12 seats put it in the 3500kg+. does anyone know if this is correct.

The Gross Vehicle Weight of the standard 110 is nowhere near 3500kgs so that one is out. The latest model 110 can be bought new with factory upgraded suspension giving it a GVW of 3500kgs. A very expensive vehicle but still does not give a GVW in EXCESS of 3500kgs.
