At this momment I am insured legaly by my insurance company to tow my Hobby all over Greece with my car, a Kia Sportage 1. Say I upgrade my insurance for a trip over the CHannel am I/am I not insured???
Am I legal?????
Obviusly the number plates to both vehicles are Greek...........

PS. By the way in Greece you can tow with a normal car up to a 2,55 van ( provided that the towing car has the nesesary capasity)

I believe that you are indeed legal as you are towing unrestricted in your own country, but I am sure as this debate is very sensitive many will respond your post.

Countries within the EC usually accept the regulations of the country in which the vehicle is registered, in your case Greece but not all do this in some cases. I know that there can be problems in Italy with long single axle caravans and I have heard that cars towing 2.5m wide vans have been reused entry at Dover. I thought that joining the EC meant that all laws would be harmonised but it seems to be getting worse.

If you want to visit England then I would contact your own equivalent of the Caravan Club for information.
