Having bought my Hobby 495fue Excellent from Nigel in January 1988 (he tells me it was the last caravan that he sold!) why has it taken me so long to seek out an owner's website?
Well the reason is that I'm not all that familiar with the workings of the internet.
However I feel particularly smug at having acquired the only (?) model with a rear bedroom, light ash interior, and a spare wheel.
Unfortunately the recent gales in Aberdeenshire dislodged the caravan from its moorings at the side of the house and Dyce Caravans who perform its annual service for me tell me that the axle has collapsed on one side. Woe is me. Axle, shock absorbers, double woe.
Have to keep it going though - just could'nt be without it. From Eccles Sapphire to Stirling to Hobby in 37 years. Interior design just perfect. Not so the workmanship but a small price to pay.
