Returning to Caravanning

Postby roda » Sun Jun 29, 2008 5:37 pm

I'm just returning to caravanning after a break, my previous caravan was a 1992 Hobby 520 TQM which I was very pleased with, particularly the build standard and finish.

I’m certainly going to consider a Hobby again; the 495 UFE looks quite interesting. There’s just the two of us who will be using it now so my want’s list is as follows:

1. The double bed can be left made up during the day
2. Separate toilet/shower/sink – I see Hobby have the toilet in with the shower now, do they do a shower on it’s own and separate toilet/sink option?
3. Offside door, this is a ‘must have’ for where I park my caravan for easy access
4. On board battery and charger
5. My 520TQM had an end kitchen, I can’t these now?
6. I want to stick to a single axle van with a maximum shipping length of 7m
7. Also my 520TQM had an outside storage locker, do Hobby still do theses?

I’m looking for a caravan about 2 or 3 years old, what Hobby (or Fendt) model does anyone suggest that meet’s my want’s list?

I’m obviously looking for a continental specification van with the offside door, but do Hobby do UK specification vans with a nearside door now, I see some model numbers end in ‘UK’.

Thanks for any suggestions.
