Truma Therm Wanted

Postby nigel129 » Sat Apr 11, 2009 7:10 pm

Hi all
Due to frost damage , i may be looking for a second hand repalcement for my 5lt truma therme. Not interested in upgrading to anything else but hoping someone else has and doesnt want an arm and a leg for a replacement for my damaged one which only gets used a few times a year.
Im looking at repair options as well if anyone has successfully the inner case that houses the element.
thanks

Hi John

Thanks for the info but its a cracked inner case (the outer comes in two halves) and by the look of it its plastic welded together. Ive had a look at several plastic fixing compounds but none ive found mention that the repair wil cope with the expansion when in use. hence the question if anyone had had a similar prob and fixed it.

hi john

took your advice and rang miriad. Parts rang from £25 to £55 to a complete new one.(thye price is determined by how much of the inards you require with the shell) However no parts or a whole one available till end of May.
Of course at the momment, i cant tell if there was any internal damage done as well so im still a bit in the dark. Theres another post on this prob if your interested in looking it up.

Hi John,
Not sure if you have had any success with your quest for a Truma Therme 5lt Water Heater but I ave one at home in the Garden Shed that I took out of our 495UFe Hobby when I upgraded to a 10Ltr Truma Ultrastore!

If you are still looking then let me know, however as we are currently away from the UK there might be a delay, and I am not sure how desparate you are for the replacement?

Send me a PM and I will send you more details if you still need.
