Are Hobby Parts Difficult To Get?

Postby traveller11 » Tue Oct 02, 2007 7:04 am

Hi.
Been trying to get a new plastic draw frame for the draw that sits under the sink and above the microwave for our Hobby which has been on order now for 4 months, and still had no luck.

Yes, before you ask it was ordered from Ambergate and at the moment is not allowing me to complete the repair or the insurance claim.

Has anybody else suffered long delays in getting replacement parts for their van?

Thanks.
Ian

Hi Roy.

Thanks for the information.

I have just got off the telephone with Hobby Germany having spoken to the lady on the switchboard and explained that I have been waiting for 4 months for my part, she was quite reluctant to connect me with the people in the Parts Department, however having explained that I was getting no response from their UK Main Dealer I was connected.

I then find that the part I want is in stock and has been for some time!
So as it has been paid for I now need to establish what is happening.

However many thanks for the alternative I will keep the details on file for no doubt future reference.

Regards.
Ian.

Ps. My call to Germany was "Free" as I use a pair of headphones and mic plugged into my Laptop and a piece of Software called VoipWise which gives me 300 Minutes a week of Free calls to over 50 countries.

I use Skype to call friends in New Zealand.
I used to call their landline which cost around 20p for an hour but they now also have Skype, so computer to computer is free, plus with a webcam you can see each other.

Hi.
I too have Skype installed but unless Hobby Germany are also using it, then it ain't "Free" however with VoipWise" you can install it and make Free Calls to landline numbers in a number of countries, so long as you don't go over your 300 minutes a week then you don't have to pay, at least that's the way I read it and so far it's been OK.
