What does my caravan weigh?

Postby willshillito » Sat May 02, 2009 1:57 pm

Hi,

I have located the small spec data plate on the front of my caravan but cant figure out what the actual weight is to see if my car is suitable to tow it.
The plate displays the following data:

force 700 a 1400kg 5-83 date
force stat.sur tete 100kg
type sv11015612420 homolog 77203

my car is a renault clio 1.9 diesel which has a towing capasity of 935kg.

Are you able to identify from this data what the caravan weights?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Will

Hi Will,

It looks like from the information supplied that you can go to 1400Kg but.....

Might help if you could also tell us your Model of caravan?

This plate is on the coupling head which is rated for trailers 700 - 1400 kg and a hitch load of 100 kg.
The caravan should have a plate on the dor side near thwe front with the maximum authorised weight.
What van is it? The plate is French so I doubt it's a Hobby.
