hopefully someone will be able to help me with our conundrum(s);
We have a place in spain, a derelict house in the country with limited access- we want to buy a caravan, tow it down there, put it on the property and use it occasionally until the build is done, then perhaps tour Europe with it occasionally.
Problems are;
siting- i understand that we can leave it on the property but would like to find a resource with more info on this- the max we'd ever be there is 2 weeks, but this would be rare- does anyone know how i'd find this out? we don't want to speak to the local town hall if possible as we have other more sensitive (planning) issues we are talking to them about already.
size- how long is a piece of string, i know- but knowing that we once ditched our campervan because we were too lazy to setup our bed every evening, what is the minimum size (berth-wise) which would allow a seperate eating and a dedicated bed area? we have a BMW 320D touring so i think we can tow most vans, but this leads us to the next bit...
access- until the build starts properly (c.1 yr), the access is VERY tight- not height wise but width at the tyre level (i.e. we have to go around a corner which is only 2m wide with a drop to one side), and ground-clearance wise (i.e. there is one significant dip which i fear either end of the van will end up straddling, leaving the wheels in the air)- so how would i find out what vans have narrower wheelbases, and do any of you know any "trolley" or similar arrangements that can go under a section of the van to aid in moving it in tight spaces?
finally, price- (as if the rest wasn't enough!)- we have a budget of £1500-2k; is this unrealistic, or does anything spring to mind? We would need a shower (can get mains water), heating etc, and preferably an awning (to make it more liveable).
thanks a million for any help you can offer, i know its a lot to ask- but you are the experts, no???
