Hobby 610 Shower Unit

Postby patmcl » Mon Feb 18, 2008 6:05 pm

I have a Hobby 610 fixed bed, its a 2000 unit. It has a toilet and washbasin and what appears to be a shower tray. I was hpoing to put a shower head on the mixer tap, has anyone done the same ?

They all have shower trays but you may find that the joints at wall corners and where the toilet unit meets the wall are not sealed. Also where the bottom of the washroom door meets the upright from the floor. Hobby oiriginally never marketed their vans with a shower, all the brochures referred to a " washroom ". Some people have sealed the joints themselves and some later vans came with a wrap round shower curtain

Thanks Guys, I contacted Hobby UK and have ordered the shower mixing tap and brackets. Just wondering now how long the Trauma 5 Ltr will last on the shower unit.

The Truma Therme water heater is actually useless..it takes forever to warm up as the heater element is only 300 watts and 5 litres doesn't go far at all, which again is why most of the Hobby's have a washroom and not a shower..I have fitted a larger heater element to mine ( Truma said it wouldn't fit ) but it hasn't really made that much difference. You will find somewhere on here that people have completely changed the water heater and have one that will run on mains electric and also gas. This is normally the Truma Ultrastore which heats the water with 850 watts on electric and 1200 watts on gas..you can heat the water on gas and electric at the same time giving a much faster warm up. This heater comes with two capacities either 10 or 14 litres priced around £480 and £600 respectively
