Awning for 650 UMFE

Postby Holly Gingero » Sun Mar 05, 2006 7:37 pm

We are thinking of buying an awning for our Hobby 650 umfe. Any recommendations on what we should be looking for would be really appreciated. We have no idea about the different types / layouts etc. Thanks in advance.

There are some brand new Trio awnings on a certain auction website. These seem to be good value for money at 800 quid for one to fit your large van.

Good luck and if you stick to Isabella, Trio, Bradcot and the decicated hobby brand casino awning and you'll not go far wrong, even if you go secondhand like I did - rather than spend the same on a cheaper new alternative.

Thanks Nick - I had a look at the ones available there are lots of them but none big enough at the moment. I will keep on looking. Thanks for the quick response.

Awning for 650

Postby John C Coleman » Mon Mar 06, 2006 4:04 pm

Holly,

I have just bought an awning for my 610 Excelsior.

I looked at Glossop Caravans, they had a secondhand Isabella for £450 but I bought a new one from NR Awnings in the north of England, their prices were less than half of a new Isabela and the quality seemed to be as good. Their website is http://home.btconnect.com/nrawnings/index.htm

They have a shop soiled one in at £550 if I remember correctly which I think will fit your caravan.

I hope the above helps.

Regards,
John Coleman

Thanks Guys for the quick responese. I think we need one that is 1100, we have not actually measured it but going by the guides on some sites, this is what we need. I will have a look at the site you suggested John. Thanks again

According to a 2004 list that I have, the correct size should be 1085. So a 1075/1100 should be OK.

Holly,
If Pete is right the isabella one on ebay was ideal and went for £470.

There are plenty more out there.

Nick

PS - Consider the poles, with an awning that size IXL will be much lighter for travelling

I have a trio family awning for sale. It is 1100cm. It has only been used twice and has all the extras including breathable groundsheet and bedroom annexe and inner tents. It is blue in colour and has the steel poles. We would take £850 for the lot. :)
