Tracker Warning

Postby brainybingo » Mon Oct 16, 2006 9:01 pm

I took delivery of a brand new 610 UL Excelsior in May 2006, complete with Proactive Tracker and its own battery backup. Towed 70 miles to its summer site, obviously no response from Tracker HQ, and switched the tracker on.
Tracker has been left switched on all summer, no problems, or so I thought. Moved the van some 15 miles to its Winter secure storage compound yesterday but forgot to switch the tracker off. No response from Tracker HQ.
After talking to HQ this morning, have now today done a round trip of 150 miles to check it was on, which it was.
Lots of checking with the Dealer and Tracker HQ to do over the next few days, so will keep you all informed of progress.
The consequences don't bear thinking about...no tracker...no insurance...no caravan !!!!!
Sorry, but maybe you need to think about your systems.

Is this the actual Tracker Monitor system that I put my faith in?

Tracker Warning

News Update on Iffy Tracker
System was road tested on Friday whilst in touch with Tracker HQ and switched on. It was only after 3 miles and when we hit an exceptionally deep rut in the road which made the car and van severely lurch that the device triggered on its motion sensor. Received a response within a couple of minutes from Tracker control. Tracker HQ suggest that its a question of the sensitivity setting on the motion sensor and are arranging for the necessary adjustments. (That'll be another round trip of 150 miles...450 so far !!!)
So, with hindsight, 'tis obvious that upon taking delivery I should have tested the system myself and satisfied myself as to its effectiveness. Shame that you can't trust experts to do the job properly in the first instance. And yes, i've been very lucky as the Tracker didn't work on 17 miles of main road, pure accident that I hit a bad patch and set it off. So in future I will be checking it every time I tow (only twice a year)
So, don't take things for granted, don't assume it works (assume means it makes an ass of u and me)....check it out.
Regards
John

Hi John,
I only have to drop the seat box lid on mine to set it off, as I did today when draining the hot water boiler.
