Tow bar and 13 pin euro socket

Postby Tara » Thu Sep 08, 2005 2:35 pm

I am in the process of ordering a new 495 uk excellent easy from Joeressen in Germany which will come with the 13 pin euro socket. :)
As yet i have not had a tow bar fitted to my car. Is it best to have one fitted with a euro 13 pin or a 12n and 12s socket and get a euro converter.?Who supplies a euro socket? Any suggestions will be gladly accepted.
Thanks

TARA. YOU CAN GET A 13 PIN TO 2X7 PIN CABLE FROM www.towsure.co.uk I DID TRY TO ORDER A 13 PIN TO 1X7 PIN CABLE A WEEK AGO AND THEY WERE OUT OF STOCK. THEY WERE ALSO OUT OF STOCK ON THE 2X7 PIN. GIVE THEM A TRY THEY MIGHT BE RE-STOCKED BY NOW. E604 IS THE PRODUCT NUMBER.

Doesn't Joeressen's have the ability to fit your car with a 13 pin socket? I had a socket installed at the dealer and was able to make sure all the lights worked correct while picking up the van.

Tara if you are going to get the towbar fitted to the car ask them to fit a 13 pin they are much better than the 12 N + 12 S as they have screw in collar which holds the plug securely into the socket. Not only that but you won't have to buy an additional convertor lead which often come wrongly wired and gives you three more plugs to go wrong / corrode.
