hi guys, long time since i posted on here!!
went away a fortnight ago (B/H) TO MARTON-MERE, near blackpool, remember ED,u thought it was the bird sanctuary, i wish !!. last monday ,i got a summons thriugh the post from lancashire police, went through a speed camera! 36 mph in a 30 mph zone. another £60 fine & 3 points .
had a clean licence for years, now i've got 6 points in as many months, all down to speed cameras!!!
went out that day .bought a "snooper s4"(speed camera detector to the un-initiated) £280. wife thought it was a bit extravagant.i explained to her if i get done 2 more times,bye-bye caravan,bye-bye job,bye-bye school-run etc, etc.could live without all the above, except ,u guessed it my pride&joy our 650 prestige !!
she now thinks it was a good in-vestment !!
have any of you guys had similar experinces !!

Sorry to hear that jon. I'm surprised I haven't been done as I am a white van man. That piece of equipment you've bought, is it wired into the vehicle, or just sits on the dashboard and plugs into the lighter socket. As I drive 3 vehicles, I would want something that is easily changed to another vehicle. Also do you find it works well? :x :x :x

hi pete, makea a change on ere dun it !!
regarding the snooper. wish i'd got it months ago, fantastic !!, you just plug it in your ciggy-lighter, away u go,that easy,so if youve got 3 vehicles, ideal.you have to pay £4.95 p/m to download the database, when you pay by direct-debit,you get 6 months free, the one i got "snooper S4 neo" even talks to u,so u dont take your eyes off the road! it warns you of every type of speed-monitering system the police have.this one even warns u if u r near a school,to slow down!
pete cant rate it high enough, absolutely spot on !!

Just to let you know some info about Lancashire and speed cameras.

The cameras are all set to 35 mph before they trigger :o

This is because Lancashire is piloting a new scheme to re-educate drivers rather than fine them and put points on your licence. It works out much more expensive to receive this 're-education' but it depends how many points you've already got!

Can't say I agree with cameras myself and this so called initiative seems to be trapping more motorists by lowering the trigger!

So beware guy’s nd gals when traveling through Lancs
