Hi John.
There's always Ebay, but make sure you set a reserve price, or I might buy it for £1.

So come on, spill the beans. What are you upgrading to?

All the best, and thanks for your concern earlier in the year when I wasn't well. I'm back to about 99% now!

David :)

Hi Jon,

Why not use your own website ???

Makes sense, people are looking to buy a hobby - your van may be just the ticket with the extras and I assume reduced price on a new one.

Thanks,

Hi, If you want a quick sale, then ebay is your best bet. However we might be interested. Could you please forward full details ie spec, Uk or foreign, some photos and price.

Hi Guy's thanks for the prompt replies and the tips.....don't use eBay anymore since some nice person started dealing as my wife which led to all sorts of probs.....well no more of that for now!

n1cktd5....
It is already up on my private web page under "Hobby 2006 Caravans.. and then on to the "second hand page....if you don't see it, remember to refresh each page as sometimes your PC will just look at previous downloaded pages rather than going and getting a update version. Best way is to run "Disc cleanup"

candlefish....
Really glad your a lot better now....you'll have to work at that last 1%

aturner.....cant give you my web site on this forum, don't want to be seen as promoting my business....seems its ok if other forum members promote me but not if I do it :? ...so how do I e-mail you....your e-address is not known to me....so you email me at jonsylv@ntlworld.com and then we can talk...ok

Well, we are looking at the new 540 Excelsior with our mouths watering..but her in doors has been looking at Hobby motorhomes, as yet the war has only just begun with the first shots from her hitting very hard.
As a poor old under paid old man you'll understand how difficult it is for me  I have request that Blair sends in the troops to back me up but he said he's  not able to help me this time. I will keep you informed

Glad your all keeping well

Hi John,

Do what I did. I hired a quality motorhome (Hymer), set up on site in the Lake District, and then suggested that Mrs. popped down to the supermarket in Keswick to get supplies, using the motorhome.

No more talk of buying a full-size motorhome since - when we rented a static 'van on the same site she happily drove around the shops in my car. We're now fighting over a Murvi or a trailer van.

Mind you, the Specials on the Hobby motorhome page look utterly delicious...

John, and Sylvia,

Nice to hear from you on the site again, ('long time no speak'), so to save you the 'worry', John is to be found here http://www.jchcaravans.co.uk/.

A very 'vibrant' looking site John, well done!

There is another place to advertize your Hobby and that is at
http://www.germancaravans.co.uk/ but I can understand your possible reticence!!! I don't think you have to buy from them to sell a 'van there though.

I think frampton's idea of renting a motorhome, to ty it out, is a good idea.
Joeressen's rental rates are very good, and if you decide to buy after the rental, the rental charge is 'lost'!! At least that was the case a couple of years ago. I'm sure F-J would cut you a deal.

Problem with motorhomes is that you have to pay the UK VAT, re-coup or not pay German VAT and then get it registered in UK with the DVLA which involves letters of conformity etc etc.

Perfectly possible as many have done it, but if you buy s/h I'm pretty sure that you just pay the German VAT already included in the s/h price and then you only need to register it with the DVLA. As German VAT is lower, a nice s/h motorhome from Germany with all the TUV testing etc. would be very appealing!!

I do have a possible contact/route for buying Hymers at the end of their season at greatly discounted prices, or so I'm told, but I've not actually investigated the viability of this option; . . . . . yet!

Happy Hobbying, in a 'van or motorhome, or whatever!
Cheers, Doc.

Hi...once more....cor what a response.....I feel the moral support....but alas lad's, she's a Yorkshire lass from Ripon, she used to build a mile of stone wall per day all on her own up there in them there Dale's  I think she also built Fountain Abbey in her spare time:wink:

Yep. we have many mag's and other stuff on the range of both caravans and motor homes from Germany etc.....what we don't have is the same wants and needs..
..think I may buy what she wants, just to keep her happy you understand. While she's off out in it I could then buy what I want and do a runner down to Spain or where ever. :P  nice to dream n-it

Thanks for the plug Doc....I have dropped in once in a while but now I have packed in the day job I am able to find a little more time to search out this great forum...Glad to see its well and kicking..
